Wolf Creek Academy specializes in helping teenagers who are experiencing behavioral difficulties, anger, depression, attachment disorders, or who are participating in self-harm or have diminishing academic performance due to trauma in their life. This program also treats social issues, disrespect, minor drug abuse, ODD, ADD, and ADHD, while providing a safe haven for teens and a self-paced school to help them get caught up academically.

When dealing with a troubled teen in your home, you have many factors to consider. How is he affecting the other siblings in the home? What is the effect on the family as a whole? Is there a willingness for him to participate in counseling with the family, and is it working? Is he showing any signs of really trying to change or, at least, expressing a need for change?Hundreds of families have come to the conclusion that keeping their teen at home, even for a few more months, may prove to be detrimental or have irreversible affects on the other siblings—a risk they were not willing to take. Therefore, they would begin the arduous process of researching to find the best program equipped to meet their child’s needs. If your family needs help, pursue it and allow God to give you the direction and peace in your decision.

The mission at Wolf Creek is to provide a quality education to each student and help students master curriculum knowledge. The education department supports the mission of WCA through classroom functions, diagnostic testing, prescribed curriculum, staff training, and, participation in the three (3) tiered system of evaluation, care, and treatment. Students are given opportunities to learn accountability and responsibility through specific classroom procedures.

ACADEMICS:  Wolf Creek Academy dual-enrolls all students with Lighthouse Christian Academy for accreditation purposes. Lighthouse Christian Academy (LCA) has full accreditation status by Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) and by Accreditation International (Ai). Ai is a recognized member in good standing with National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA), the Council on Occupational Education (COE), and the International Council for Education.

WCA supports the concept of establishing daily goals in school work. A planned day will be a successful day. Daily goal setting establishes priorities and creates the pathway for completing work in a timely fashion; a learned skill for use throughout life.

  1. Students must be at levels where they can perform.
  2. Reasonable goals must be set.
  3. Students must be controlled and motivated.
  4. Learning must be measurable.
  5. Learning must be rewarded.

Whether the student is a high achiever or a moderately paced learner, the Accelerated Christian Education educational process proceeds at the exact level determined by the child’s ability.

Students attend class daily in a classroom type setting. The teacher and aids in the classroom provide assistance for students from the sixth grade up to twelfth grade. The quiet environment offers one-on-one attention and tutoring as required. Recognizing that each child is unique with individual learning needs, students are encouraged on a daily basis to work toward accomplishing their goals and continuously progress using techniques designed specifically for them. Often times, a public school setting is full of distractions which cause frustration for the student and can negatively impact their ability to advance. The therapeutic and nurturing environment of Wolf Creek Academy is a safeguard for success. Students are offered various electives such as foreign language, speech, art and physical education. Students thrive while having the opportunity to advance at their own pace; most often an accelerated pace which boosts self-respect, repairs self-confidence and promotes security for a successful future.

Small Group Sessions

Wolf Creek AcademyEach day begins with daily group sessions addressing issues of anger management and respect of authority, self-respect, substance abuse or other issues relative to today’s youth. These groups are conducted by the counselors.

Small group counseling sessions provide a safe environment whereby students may interact, vent, and learn from one another, appropriate ways of managing their respective behavioral difficulties. Most are capable of relating with other teens and will easily become transparent, thus allowing their inner-self to be exposed and eventually promote healing in various areas of their lives. This non-threatening atmosphere will encourage emotional growth and will allow each student the opportunity to become understanding and accepting of their own identity.

Our Philosophy

Wolf Creek Academy strives to help turn lives around for thousands of struggling youth. We are a faith-based ministry designed to instill integrity, accountability, responsibility, and character while giving the student the opportunity to achieve a quality education regardless of their social status, race or religion.

Our Values

  • Active Involvement of Parents in the rehabilitation of youth programs based on results, not time.
  • Connection between parents, teens and program.
  • Home Visits to test the student’s readiness to return home.
  • Home Contract that identifies boundaries to assist in long-term success.

We do not believe that children have to be broken down….but we believe that they should be built up, loved, and nurtured with appropriate disciplinary measures of losing privileges and gaining rewards for good behaviors.

Here are a few of the many letters we’ve received over the years from students, parents and grandparents who have had their children in our program, as well as some of the kids themselves. References are available upon request.

“Wolf Creek Academy forever changed my life. I’ve made friends that are going to last a lifetime. As of right now, I’m almost 18 years old and attending college. I’m basically working two jobs and loving life. If it wasn’t for the loving, compassionate staff there, I don’t know if I’d be where I am today. And once you leave WCA, the support never leaves you. They are still there for you. The most important thing out of all of this, though, is meeting my best friend, Jesus. I know He is always there for me through all the good times and the bad. He motivates me everyday. Thank you, Wolf Creek Academy, for changing my life. With a tear down my eye, I can actually say at this point in my life, I am happy, all because of that support I had and still have today. Thank you is not enough words to say. Only God knows how much you all mean to me. Thank you for changing my life.”

Ivana, Former Student

“ My name is Mary. Prior to my enrollment I had been kicked out of school, ran away from home numerous times, suffered extreme depression, and had radical anger issues. Being the oldest child in my family, my parents feared that I would soon destroy my own life as well as set my younger siblings up for failure. They made the extremely difficult decision of placing my life in the hands of others with the hope my behaviors and thought process might change.

As a student I learned that while I may have consequences from my past behaviors, I could be forgiven by God, my family, and myself. I was introduced to the process of working through my anger and hurt through counseling. I found self worth, acceptance, and the opportunity of becoming an established young adult. I learned the tools that would set me up to make positive decisions. In counseling, the trust and communication line with my parents was opened up. My life was turned around and saved during my enrollment in the program.

I am now 26 years old and married to a wonderful man. If there is one thing that I would pass on to those in a tough spot is the good news that things can and will change. I find many of the things I was taught years ago still pop up in my mind when I least expect, but when I need it the most. I completely credit my success to the foundations of love, support, and motivation laid by the Jones’ and their school. Without the guidance I had through my counselor and the other staff, I do not believe I would be in the place that I am today. ”

Mary, Former Student

“ When I first arrived at Wolf Creek Academy I had many weaknesses and struggles. I wasn’t quite sure why I was here, but the more time I spent the more I began to realize what my problem were. I recently lost my mother and they taught me the healthy ways of grieving and accepting the loss of a loved one. I’ve struggled my whole life trying to deal with the physical, verbal and sexual abuse that I’ve experienced. WCA also helped me to set boundaries to better protect myself for the future.

I have built very strong relationships with the staff, counselors, and other students while I have been here. They are the most encouraging people I have ever met in my entire life. If I hadn’t come to WCA, I’m not sure where I would be and I certainly wouldn’t be the confident outgoing person that I have become. ”

Rachel, Former Student

“I just wanted to take a few minutes to tell you how much we appreciate everything that you have done for our son, Adam, since he began attending your school. What was the worse period of time for us a parents, has turned into such a blessing! We are so thankful that we found your school and made the hardest decision in our life to send him to you. ”

Mark and Maureen, Parents
